You don't often see rye grass baskets in paint but here is a prime example. The outside of the basket was painted long ago with the best cranberry red. The inside is unpainted and has nice color and patina. Measuring 11.5" in diameter and 3.75" tall, the basket is nice and tight and in good condition with only a few minor losses. Pennsylvania, second half of the 19th C.

An early 19th C. walnut chopping block with a dry, natural surface. It measures an out of round 11 3/4" x 12 1/4" x 1 3/4" tall. There are four feet, one of which has loss, but it still sits perfectly level. Wonderful display piece for stone fruit or what have you. Weighs 3.5 pounds.

This late 19th C. hand forged eel spear on stand was found in South Jersey and stands 17" tall. It is still attached to the end of the original long wooden pole. The oxidized surface is very old and pitted but is not flakey. As you can see, there is one barb missing but overall, it displays really well. Once used as utilitarian items, these spears now take on a sculptural look.

Dating from the early to mid-1800's, this unusual stoneware snuff crock is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, lines or repairs. The crock stands 10.5" tall and features 8 cobalt blue daubs as shown. Most likely from NYC or New Jersey circa 1830-50.

This pair of restored solid- bodied Mergansers date from the late 1800's or early 1900's. The carver is unknown and they could have originated in New England, MD or VA.

Dating from the late 18th or early 19th Century, this 4-candle hanging lamp measures only 12" in diameter and 17 1/2" tall. It was blacksmith made and has a nice old patina and is in excellent condition. This is a very rare early lighting device, if not one of a kind. It will make quite a statement in any decorating application. Includes the grunge candles as shown. Great form!

Two manganese decorated redware jugs by Greg Shooner of Oregonia, OH. The smaller jug is 7" tall and dated 1993. The larger jug is 9 1/2" tall and is also dated 1993. Both are in excellent condition with intentional distressing to the glaze, typical of all Shooner pieces.

This is an 18th Century blacksmith made 4 prong meat hook that was found on an old Salem County New Jersey farm many years ago. It has a great old surface and it measures only 6" x 6". Great item for the kitchen or hearth.

Here's a medium-small 7 3/4" dia. x 3 3/4" tall blue spongeware mixing bowl in excellent condition (minor line in glaze underneath as shown). It was made in Ohio and dates to the early 1900's.

This pine kneeling bench is decorated with the original gold floral stencil on black paint. It originates from Pennsylvania and is in excellent original condition. The legs have "bootjack" cutouts. Measuring 34" long x 6" wide x 8" tall, the bench sits sturdy and level and makes for an excellent riser on a table. More photos on request.

This pair of American made 2 pound Indian clubs were turned with an unusual bulbous bases and date to around 1890-1900. Used for exercise routines that were popular during the Victorian era, this matched set of clubs feature the original brass tacks on top and and original surface. Very Good condition. Height 16 3/4".

This unusual small double swing handle basket has a hinged lid and retains the original dark Windsor green paint. It is in excellent condition with only minor wear on a few corners. The paint has a crackled surface from age. Dating from the late 1800's or early 1900's, the basket measures 9" wide x 6.5" deep x 7.5" tall with the handles down.

This large painted decorated slide lid box is made of good old American white pine and dates to the mid-1800's. It features nice tight dovetails, square nails and the original black over red paint decoration. The sides have a subtle sponged decoration while the top has a more pronounced polka dot motif. Finely crafted and in excellent condition, the box measures 16" x 10" x 8.5" tall.

Unusual form straight-sided measure with two lap jointed bands secured with iron nails. The coopered measure has tightly joined 1/2" thick pine staves with a solid wood bottom that is mortised into the staves. The measure is constructed just like a bucket but never had a handle or a lid. The outside of the measure is an old, original Windsor green paint that has oxidized to a near black color. Superb condition. 12 1/2" diameter x 6" tall. You will probably never see another one, especially in this condition.

This wonderful 1800's bowl measures a slightly oval 19.5" x 18" x 6" tall. It has an old, black-painted surface and a wonderful, dark patina on the interior with an interesting grain in the wood. The condition is really superb with no cracks, repairs or losses. An exceptional wooden bowl! American. Circa 1830-50.
