American Revolution Era canteen. Staved construction with interlocking wooden hoops. Minimal remnants of red paint, but nice warm patina. No signs of ever having strap. Initials carved on both sides "SP". As seen in photos cracking and loss on 1 hoop/band. Measures 9" long, 9" high triangular base.

Rats tail end on top of hanger and bottom portion of trammel, and under drip pan of socket. The surface is pitted with some rust, in as found condition. Extends from 17-25 1/2".
