Butcher Shop Wall Box

Wal Box labeled "Meat Hooks" in original paint. Likely used in a butcher shop or slaughter house. 19thc, 8.5" x 8.25" x 5.5". The base of the backboard and back edge of the bottom were exposed to water, compromising the wood. The hooks would have been returned to the box wet after being washed. The surface shows good color and dry patina. Constructed of pine.

Bullseye Lantern in white paint

Mid 19th century lantern used by police and fire companies. Constructed of tinned sheet iron with a fluted ventilator and clear magnifying bull's eye lens. The lens can be pulled left to right to block light. The lantern retains its original whale oil burner with 2 wick tubes. 7" in height, very good condition.
